INTERIORS AWARDS 2023 | ATHENS
It was a special honour and pleasure for the team of Costas Gagos Architecture & Design to receive three awards at the Interiors Awards 2023 by BOUSSIAS. More specifically, the team managed to win a gold award for the Cava Zafiri Deli retail store in Zakynthos, a silver award for the Century 21 office premises in Athens and a bronze award for the Vintage Boo Boo branded clothing store in Mykonos!

For another year the Costas Gagos Architecture & Design team participated in the HORECA 2023 exhibition! The exhibition gave us the opportunity to meet new people and professionals from many different disciplines, passing on our design ideas!
ESTIA AWARDS 2023 | ATHENS
For another year, Costas Gagos Architecture & Design has been shortlisted for the Estia Awards 2023. The team managed to win two unique awards for two separate CBR projects. More specifically, they won a gold award for the Oliva Ristorante, Corfu project & a silver award for the Wine Bar, Cyprus.

The new year welcomed the Costas Gagos Architecture & Design team with another publication in the November-December issue of "Snack & Coffee" magazine. It was a special honour for our team to publish the project "Iguazu Athens South American Bar Restaurant". We tried to capture a distinct highly tropical mood amidst the monotonous rhythms of the city. The unique aesthetics and eccentricity led to a beautiful result!

For another year the Costas Gagos Architecture & Design team attended the XENIA 2022 exhibition. In a special space of high aesthetics we presented all those visions that make Design special for us. A' DESIGN AWARDS 2022 | ITALY
Our Costas Gagos Architecture & Design team managed to win a great position in the top competition A' Design Awards 2021 - 2022, the award ceremony of which took place in July 2022 in Como, Italy. Our company won a silver award for the Cavaliere Ristorante Concettuale restaurant, Athens winning yet another victory in the history of design. This global award has given us the impetus to continue working with the same zeal & love for our common vision, successful Design!

Poseidon is a Greek restaurant, located in the town of Ausburg in the Bavarian region of Germany. Kostas Gagos and his team were asked to do a radical renovation of the restaurant's 170sqm interior. The primary objective was to redesign the existing space, preserving its character and making the most of its distinctive structural roof, in order to create an atmospheric space for guests that will make their visit unique at any time of the day. The key design structure was to maintain the main axes throughout the space, achieved by placing the furniture and designs in line with the walls, which created ease of accessibility and a single passageway, essentially for customers and staff alike.…

With these actions, the maximum beneficial and functional effect was achieved, so that no unnecessary space was lost. Materials such as natural stone, velvet fabrics, wood, gold details were used, which were highlighted with hidden lighting and created a very warm and atmospheric restaurant interior.

Costas Gagos and his team won two special prizes in the competition of ESTIA AWARDS 2022. Winning a gold prize for the project Kipotheatro,Alkazar in Larisa and a silver prize for the restaurant Kenko Modish Sushi Bar in Athens.

What does "good design" mean to you?
For me, the term "good design" is intertwined with the feeling of familiarity and all the positive emotions in general that can be created when I look at a space, an object and anything that can make me notice it and give me that "wow" feeling. At the same time, it is very important that the designer in question gives due weight to how functional the project will be, because beauty is essentially the successful combination of aesthetics and functionality.
How has Braun intervened and influenced us over the 100 years in our lives with "good design"?
Braun has managed to change a lot in our habits over the years, combining simple design with usability and thus managing to be present in every modern home, satisfying the needs of every family's everyday life. I can speak with confidence about Braun products both as a consumer and as an interior designer and describe them as 'little design miracles', which is also evident from their timelessness and from how ahead of their time they were from the very beginning of their consumer journey.
What struck you from Braun's press conference about the collaboration with Virgil Abloh?
First of all, let me say that it was a great pleasure for me to be selected and participate in the press conference for Braun's 100th anniversary, a really interesting event for all of us who attended it live and are a small part of the global design community. When Virgil Abloh's name was announced I immediately thought that Braun couldn't associate its name with anything less worthy of its journey. Since at Gagos Architecture & Design we place great importance on the functionality of our projects, Virgil's design proposal and functional art directly caught my attention because he brought this freshness together with Braun's timelessness and I am confident that only with success can this project be crowned.

Undoubtedly, the space that once housed the refreshment bar at the Kipotheater, in the beautiful park of Alcazar, was a reference point for Larissa and the citizens who wanted to spend moments of relaxation within a few minutes from the city center. Kostas Gagos, who now transforms his vision into reality, as together with his team of "Gagos Architecture & Design" he designed the multi-purpose venue that is expected to bring a new era in the catering sector. As far as the project is concerned, a complete design study of the space has been completed, the necessary design and functional modifications have been made as well as the final photo-realizations.
A magical multi-place in a magical landscape will soon be at the disposal of the citizens of Larissa" and points out about what the new space will include: "For the first time in the history of the Garden Theatre, anyone can enjoy coffee, pizza, souvlaki, ice cream, waffles, cocktails. There will be a cafeteria, pizzaria, gelateria, creperie, grillhouse, cocktail bar. Of course the surprises don't stop here and will be revealed to the public as soon as the doors open."
Finally, Costas Gagos develops the philosophy of the interventions saying: "It was a great responsibility for us when we were assigned the site of the Garden Theatre because the project is a landmark for Larissa. Especially now under the Covid conditions we saw a lot of people crowding there and enjoying the tranquility and nature that is so close to the centre of Larissa, so respecting the specific space and understanding its history, we redesigned it with significant interventions respecting all the hygiene and safety standards".
